What a great week to put sacrifice and suffering in perspective...

Is "social distancing" really healthy for us?

Post #5 - One more day of gratitude...

Are you feeling anxious as we pass the halfway mark of week 3 of social isolation?

Now is the time...as I was reflecting on what to write about today I decided to spend a little more time on the idea of rediscovering awe - Dr. J Bryan Sexton says: "...there is profound beauty and grace in the world. When we reconnect with the emotion of awe, it helps us feel inspired and time slows down."

Post #3 deserves a title related to the Power of 3 - don't you agree?

I realized today that committing to writing and posting daily is a bit over zealous as the true inspiration for writing during this time of continuous change comes from experiencing life as it is evolving...

Certainty in an uncertain time

Such interesting times we live in.  I've been writing off and on to this blog since 2015 - mainly to write about significant times in our lives so it seems appropriate now to pick up where I left off several months ago. I'm planning to dedicate each day to people who inspire me so today's ramble is dedicated to the many health care workers across the world who are serving others no matter the risk or cost to themselves.

Transitions continued...

Life transitions - I wrote the first entry about transitions in September 2015 - we began thinking about my retirement, where we might live in the next phase, and where we will spend our time, talent, and treasure as we move into this next stage.

Happy Easter 2017

Here we are…2 years and 7 months since I wrote the first entry to this blog titled “Transitions”. And there have been a few transitions since that beautiful fall day in September 2015. I’m in the initial stages of a major life transition – RETIREMENT. January 2016 (shortly after I wrote my last post on December 24, 2015) I made the decision to retire at the end of 2016.  My list of to do’s, that didn’t include getting up and driving 100+ miles every day, was growing and my heart was yearning for simpler days where I could nourish my creative side, learn more about myself and how I could reach my fullest potential personally and spiritually.  To paraphrase the New York Times best-selling Catholic writer Matthew Kelly ( Dynamic Catholic ) I wanted to work on creating the best version of myself.

Family Time

Desmond Tutu said: 'You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you as you are to them".

We were privileged to enjoy the gift of family this week when Tonia's sister Judy and her husband Paul stopped for a brief visit on their way to an event in Minneapolis.

Transitions

It's a beautiful Saturday morning at the cabin.  The air is cooler, the breezes are light, and the sun is just coming over the horizon. There is definitely a feel of autumn in the air which always brings, for me, mixed feelings.
