Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Featured
Merry Christmas - Feliz Navidad - Buon Natale - Happy Christmas...
Wherever you find yourself on December 25, 2015 it's a magical time of year. I have to admit I'm having difficulty feeling inspired about gifts for Christmas, but I continue to feel awed by the birth of Jesus Christ and what that continues to mean to me. As a Christian, living in today's world of uncertainty, Christ's promise for me brings peace and hope in my heart.
I started thinking about this blog over 2 years ago and actually made the first post in September 2015. It's been a great experience to put together my thoughts about life's transitions, life's experiences, and the gifts we have in our lives. Though my posting/writing has slowed down since returning from our wonderful Australian experience, I continue to use this format to stay connected with family and friends by sharing what I consider important in life. I've learned so much from each of you and am grateful for each of you who take the time to touch my life regularly.
Many of you know that I play at being a musician of sorts - one of my favorite piano artists is Jim Brickman - one of my favorite Jim Brickman originals is "The Gift". Though this could be interpreted as a romantic love song only - I like to open the interpretation up to the gift of Jesus Christ, the gift of family, and the gift of great friends and colleagues. The last line of the chorus sums up how I feel about each of you..."And I'm thankful everyday for the gift." http://youtu.be/KvQXwHh42VU
As we leave 2015 and transition to 2016 - we all continue to transition to new experiences and opportunities. Many of my work colleagues are transitioning to new working relationships that will bring new and exciting experiences their way. Members of my family have transitioned to new lifestyles and living locations. Friends will be moving into new homes. For me, I'm committed to doing those things that have been on the back burner for whatever reason - Bob & I are signed up for Yoga beginning in January (thanks to our friend Suzanne for the encouragement and role modeling). I'm committed to writing regularly (at least weekly) and traveling frequently - by air and by land whichever mode gets us to a new experience. I'm committed to serving as I'm led by the Spirit to serve.
So I apologize for a bit of a ramble, but isn't that what happens this time of year. We've enjoyed a wonderful 2015. When I reflect on what's the best part of 2015...it's all of you...and I'm thankful everyday for the gift...of each of you.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
