An ordinary life filled with extraordinary people and opportunities...that's what we have.

At least once a day, one of us says: "We're in Australia!" Friday, we were quite overwhelmed as we flew, by helicopter, over the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) This post is short because, frankly, words cannot describe the awesomeness of flying over this wonder of the world! It was such a remarkably beautiful sight that we were both very emotional when, 30 minutes later, we landed on board a floating pontoon where we had a couple of hours of close uptime with the reefs.  We took a submarine under water to view the reefs from that vantage also.   Today's photo is taken from the helicopter to give you some sense of the vastness of the reefs. The colors, the visual from the air, and according to Bill Bryson, the travel writer, "the largest living thing on earth".  Ian, the pilot shared, that end to end the reef is the distance between Los Angeles and Chicago and we were flying right over the mid-section.  Join us on take-off:

Bob & Tonia Lauer from Albert Lea, Minnesota FLEW OVER THE GREAT BARRIER REEF!  Quite amazing!!!

I can't wait to share the next check on Bob's bucket list...his date with Nellie - stay tuned.
