Three is a powerful number - 3 can change you and how you respond to life:

We talk alot about resiliency in my work. The work is hard but oh so rewarding. When your lives are out of perspective it's very difficult to feel rewarded and fnd joy. This past week I was so fortunate to attend a patient safety conference and was delighted to listen to Dr. J. Bryan Sexton from Duke Patient Safety Center. Dr. Sexton is a leading expert on  building resiliency in the workplace. I've included a link here to a similar presentation by Dr. Sexton where he shares very compelliing research about a simple exercise that builds capacity for resiliency. Take time daily to express 3 things   for which you are grateful.  This seemingly small activity is a proven powerful technique, that when sustained, surpasses the effectiveness of medication interventions to treat depression. Dr. Sexton delivers a message that has the potential to impact each of us regardless of our stage in life. http://youtu.be/hZ4aT_RVHCs

I shared one of my daily routines wth Dr.Sexton as an examle of a brief meditation that helps me set my tone for the day - 3 Minute Retreat  http://www.loyolapress.com/about-3minute-retreats.htm  Again, a seemingly simple brief activity that helps me put the upcoming day in perspective.

 The power of 3...

Saint Paul in his letter to the Corinthians 13:13 says: "But now faith, hope and love remain - these three. The greatest of these is love."

The power of 3 -- the simplicity of  3 -- the magic of 3.
